Re-created: Basalt and Origami.
A piece of history - saved from oblivion.

In August 2021, during a trip along the old porcelain factories trail in Poland, we came upon the broken moulds for a mug and a bowl on the rubble pile on a decommissioned factory site.

To save them from oblivion, we recreated their shape. We designed new lids for them, inspired by the Japanese art of Origami and the uniqueness of basalt rocks. This is how the mug form became an Origami candle and the old Consommé dish, our Basalt candle.

Basalt and Origami are a union of the old and the new.
A piece of the history of Polish ceramics and contemporary design thought. They were saved from oblivion and created anew in our design studio.
